Aline Jesus Rafi

Aline Jesus Rafi is the Coordinator of Sexual Assault Prevention Education
and Response at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. Aline has worked as
an advocate, educator, volunteer, and board member in the field of violence
prevention since the year 2000. From 2003 to 2006, Aline served as both the
Director of Multicultural Outreach and Prevention and as Victim Services
Coordinator at the DeKalb Rape Crisis Center in Decatur, Georgia.
Aline was born in Salvador da Bahia, Brazil and moved to Georgia in 1997 to
complete her college studies at the University of West Georgia where she earned
a Bachelor of Arts (1999) and Master of Arts in Psychology (2002).
Aline is very involved in the field of sexual assault prevention and advocacy,
and in addition to serving on the Arte Sana Board of Directors, she has served
on the board of two local grassroots organizations; Ahimsa House, Inc. and Women
Healing Women, Inc. During the past few years Aline has also volunteered and
collaborated with several local organizations, such the Georgia Network to End
Sexual Assault, Tapestri, Inc, Raksha, Inc., International Women’s House,
Caminar Latino, Inc, and Refugee Family Services, among others. In addition,
she has been a frequent speaker at conferences nationwide on issues related
to sexual violence and social justice.
