Since 1983 Maria has received certification and/or volunteered with a variety of programs including but not limited to: Gelnhausen Chapel CCD Program, Family Forward Middle Way/Teen Program, PAX United Peer Mediation, TDCJ Victim/Offender Volunteer Mediator, Stephen Ministry, Catholic Charities Social Ministry, Bridges to Life Inmate Program, Restoring Peace Inmate program, Volunteer Lawyer's Clinic as a tranlator, Family Connection Parenting Program, Catholic Catechism Doctrine (CCD), School for Spiritual Growth/Inner Healing, Las Comadres, and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) Program. Maria also created, implemented and facilitated a bilingual Single Parent Support Group. Currently she co-facilitates an international Latina Women of Wisdom (WOW) group, continues her healing ministry and writes inspirational prayers and poems through her "Words from the Heart" work. Maria has also assisted in the success of numerous events such as "Entre Nosotras", Las Comadres de Las America's 1st Wordwide Comadrazo event, and Round Rock ISD's annual Parent Summit. For the past 25 years Maria has and continues to network with a diverse group of professionals, especially of Hispanic descent, to assist her in the empowerment of families in numerous ways.
Maria currently works as a District Parent Liaison, coach and supervisor with Round Rock ISD. Her current work consists of coaching the District's Parent Support Specialist in their role of providing resources and assistance to Round Rock ISD families. She has created and leads a Central Texas Districts Networking group that consists of Parent Program Coordinators and leaders from 9 school districts. In addition to her numerous certifications, Maria Rosas Garcia currently is working towards her Bachelor's Degree in Organizational Communication at St. Edward's University in Austin, Texas.
