- Message: In this heart the soul has survived and is now thriving after violence. The butterflies represent the change my soul and heart have made through this healing process. The metamorphosis that the caterpillar goes though is similar to my period of healing. I had felt as if I was wrapped tightly in a dark cocoon, unable to see light. Eventually, I came out of the darkness and feel more alive and stronger than ever before.
